Masters Day

This annual event is for students from the Masters groups. These young participants take part in a series of themed workshops conducted entirely in English, using the CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning) to combine subject-based learning with the development of language skills. As a result, the students not only gain knowledge in areas such as science, ecology, or space, but also learn specialist vocabulary and practice fluent communication in English. During these workshops, the students work in groups, exchange ideas, and solve tasks together. We use a wide range of materials, from films and animations to hands-on activities, experiments, and demonstrations. This approach develops language fluency while also building essential future skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and environmental awareness. Each edition concludes with a fun, shared celebration, during which we introduce the workshop leaders, draw prizes for the participants, and enjoy a cake prepared especially for the occasion.
Adventure Club

These unique extracurricular classes are designed for younger children who love exploring the world, experimenting, and creating. We create a space where learning meets fun and where children can feel like curious researchers, imaginative artists, and confident builders. Adventure Club is also based on the CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning). Through this approach, children naturally engage with a foreign language while completing inspiring activities and exploring fascinating topics related to nature, art, and culture. New vocabulary emerges organically through conversation, play, and collaboration. Our teachers accompany the children like a supportive and friendly expedition guide. They diligently observe the children’s actions, support them when difficulties arise, and help them uncover the challenges of each task. Along the way, the teacher adds “micro-secrets”– small hints, fun facts, and tips that open new doors and stimulate children’s natural curiosity.

Designers of the Future

This project is dedicated to children aged 4–9 and allows them to learn English and develop future-ready skills through play. Our goal is to inspire the youngest learners and nurture their natural curiosity about the world. We offer several modules with workshops focused on experiments, creative challenges, and new knowledge. In this space, young explorers build, create, and experiment, learning new things through hands-on experience. All of this helps develop imagination, teamwork, and other soft skills. We make sure that each meeting feels like a new and inspiring adventure.

Life skills

Led by native speakers, these classes prepare older students for the challenges of adulthood by teaching business etiquette and real-life communication skills, all in English.

This year’s edition also included many inspiring workshops. One of them being based on a reality television series Shark Tank, where students take on the role of entrepreneurs looking for investors. They were pitching product ideas to their peers playing the roles of investors. Here they pitched their product ideas to their peers that played the roles of investors. The entire class was led by Michael from English Bez Limitu. Under his guidance, they developed key business competencies from presenting their own ideas to negotiating and effectively persuading others.

Each native speaker designs and delivers an original workshop program based on their chosen topic and adapted to their students’ needs.

To illustrate the variety of topics, here are a few more examples: How to Navigate a Crisis, Rent or Buy?, Survive Adulthood, and Master Your Money.

Language Classes
at Kawa na Ławie

For many years, we have been organizing special outdoor classes in a friendly café setting, offering a refreshing alternative to traditional lessons. These classes take place occasionally and are held in a more relaxed atmosphere. A change of environment helps children and teenagers focus more easily, enjoy themselves more, and engage in activities. These classes also give students the opportunity to develop social skills, build positive peer relationships, and practice communication in natural situations. The less formal atmosphere encourages openness, creativity, and greater confidence in using English.

Summer Camps

Our language camps are a real adventure and a special time for children and teenagers. Each year, we travel to a new location, whether by the sea or in the mountains. During the summer break, participants meet with teachers every day, take part in language classes, and enjoy a wide range of games and activities that will help them practice English in real-life situations. There are also excursions, during which campers explore interesting places in the area, discover local legends, and visit sites of historical significance. We also go on more distant adventures, spending time at amusement parks, and sharing memorable experiences together. The camps offer plenty of opportunities for integration—we always organize a traditional welcome ceremony, shared evenings around the campfire and many more. In this environment, young people not only improve their language skills, but also meet new people, explore the world, and build friendships that often last for years.

Themed Language
Day Camps

For over 15 years, we have been organizing unique themed language day camps that combine learning, fun, and relaxation. Over the years, our participants have traveled through time, taken part in a pirate adventure, and embarked on a ten-day “around-the-world” journey. Each year introduces a fresh theme, giving children the opportunity to learn new things, develop their language skills during classes led by our teachers, and take part in creative art activities and energetic sports sessions. Our day camps also offer unforgettable adventures and trips, from enjoying fun at the Powerland amusement park to discovering the magical city of Zamość, with plenty of ice cream, pizza, and play on sports fields and playgrounds along the way.

WOW English
Educational Picnic

Every summer, we organize an Educational Picnic for children learning with the WOW English method and their families. During this event, our garden transforms into a lively space full of attractions. It is always a joyful occasion, where children discover English in a natural way through shared play. Participants can enjoy mini language lessons, games, competitions, delicious snacks, and a visit from Nela the Parrot. We always make sure that each edition includes new surprises, making every picnic an unforgettable experience. We make every effort to ensure that these shared moments strengthen our community bonds and create lasting memories.

English-Language
Carnival Balls

For first-grade students, we organize annually a special English speaking Carnival Balls filled with fun, music, and dancing, during which children learn English in the most enjoyable way – through play. Both children and teachers come dressed in costumes, creating a colorful and joyful atmosphere that encourages them to speak freely and confidently. During the ball, children sing songs, dance, take part in traditional carnival games, and learn new vocabulary and simple phrases in a natural context. The entire event is conducted in English. Game-based activities encourage cooperation, idea-sharing, and active language use in peer interactions.

English in Action: Cooperation with U.S. Army Soldiers

Shortly after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, American soldiers were stationed in our region to provide security. Their participation in our classes as native speakers gave them a much-needed break from their daily duties and an opportunity to build close relationships with the local community. Native speakers prepared language games for younger students, helping them naturally develop their communication skills. With older students, the soldiers led discussions about life and service in the U.S. Army, allowing our students to better understand the cultural and social realities of the United States. Students also had the opportunity to see what American military rations look like and learn about everyday military life. As part of the cooperation, we organized two large integration picnics for teenagers, during which the soldiers prepared a variety of team tasks and activities. They also supported students in preparing for debates, offering both linguistic and substantive guidance.

Bacalarus Student Debates

This project was inspired by Oxford-style debates and conducted entirely in English, following our original format. Students not only trained self-confidence and learned to express their ideas clearly, but above all developed the skill of responding effectively to opposing arguments. Each speech was an opportunity to overcome stage fright and develop the ability to defend one’s position in a persuasive, logical, and respectful manner. Practicing language in new communicative situations, combined with slightly increased pressure, supports the development of fluency, faster reaction time, and greater ease in spoken English. These conditions encourage active language use and strengthen spontaneous communication skills.
Exchange Program with Germany

The co-founder of the Bacalarus Language School initiated and developed a school exchange project with Berthold-Gymnasium in Freiburg, one of the oldest schools in Europe, founded in 1991. The exchange takes place in Freiburg, a picturesque city in southwestern Germany, located at the foot of the Black Forest and close to the borders with Switzerland and France, making it an ideal setting for such an international exchange. The city’s rich history, architecture, and unique atmosphere support the development of cultural competencies, which are an essential part of any language exchange. Over time, the project evolved into a joint initiative, and for many years Bacalarus was the main organizer of the exchange in Poland. Currently, the project is carried out in cooperation with the First General Secondary School in Zamość, which has taken over organizational responsibilities. We continue, however, to support the initiative in terms of content and expertise.
